The first convention on philanthropy will take place in Basel and is organized by the Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS) at the University of Basel.

Target Audience

The program is oriented towards the diversity of philanthropy. The event is aimed at an international audience, i.e. the program deals less with Swiss NPO realities but more with overarching topics and questions such as NPO financing, the relationship between the NPO state economy, communication and important social topics. It should be a platform on which new contacts can be made and knowledge can be imparted.

The two day event should bring together decision-makers and leading figures in the national and international NPO and philanthropy world. Basel, as a city with a rich philanthropic history, serves as an ideal location for such a meeting.

On the first day (Monday, November 19, 2018) the convention will start with prominent keynote speakers, who open the event thematically; panel discussions to accentuate the current state of global philanthropy; breakout sessions to deepen the various issues; and finally a festive dinner to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Center for Philanthropy Studies (CEPS).

The second day (Tuesday, November 20, 2018) offers another exciting keynote speech; a panel discussion with a global focus; and theme workshops in an unconference format, which deal with a wide array of topics.
